Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A new downtown residential/commercial project has surfaced, one that would be located in the DMC Discovery Square District.

The preliminary plan for the project called Residence at Discovery Square is scheduled to be presented to the city Planning and Zoning Commission at its Jan. 11 meeting.

The proposal from developer Mark Dickson of Oxford Management calls for a six-story mixed use building with 150 residential units, 20,000 square feet of commercial space, and underground parking.

The site where it would be built occupies most of a block bordered by 5th Street SW to the north, 3rd Avenue SW to the east, 6th Street SW to the south, and 4th Avenue SW to the west. It’s just to the northwest of Zumbro Lutheran Church.

The proposal is currently scheduled to be presented to the City Council at its first meeting in February.
