Northfield Police ID Deceased Woman

Northfield, MN (Learfield Wire Services) -- Police have identified the woman found dead outside a house in Northfield Sunday.

31-year-old Tiffany Louise Smith was reported missing to Northfield Police the afternoon of New Year's Day. A friend told authorities Smith was upset and had not returned home that morning.

Police, family, and friends searched for Smith since her disappearance, but found nothing until a body was discovered outside a home on East Third Street Sunday afternoon.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office and Northfield Police, who noted there were no signs of struggle or anything suspicious where her body was found..
