Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  An off-duty Rochester police officer who was placing an order at a local coffee shop drive-through Thursday spotted an employee inside who was wanted for a recent armed robbery.

Minutes later, officers arrested 19-year-old Andres Green.

He was being sought for the February armed robbery of the Cold Stone Creamery near Menards South. A Kasson teenager pleaded guilty last week to taking part in the heist. A condition of his plea agreement was giving police the name of the other suspect. Green is suspected of being the one who had the gun during the robbery.

Green was given a break last year for being involved in a shooting.

He admitted he took part in a drive-by shooting during which several shots were fired at an occupied house. Green was facing a recommended 4-year prison term in that case but the judge stayed the sentence because it was determined he was amenable to probation and “showed remorse” for what he had done.

If convicted of the armed robbery, Green will be facing another possible prison term.
