Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An Owatonna woman was charged Friday with 1st degree criminal damage to property in connection with a bizarre incident in Rochester Thursday evening.

20-year-old Mackenzie Hill is accused of causing thousands of dollars in damage inside a Rochester home. Police say she allegedly pushed over a china hutch and smashed other items belonging to the victim, who was described as a 70-year-old woman with dementia. The victim told officers the young woman, whom she did not know, started breaking things after Hill came into her home in the 1200 block of 4th avenue northwest and asked about a dog.

Police say Hill had a 4-year-old girl with her, and it was later learned she was working as a personal care attendant for an Owatonna woman staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester. The woman had left the 4-year-old in Hill’s care while she was at St. Mary’s Hospital visiting her other child.
