Pair Given Chance to Avoid Prison for Sexual Assault

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two Rochester men were sentenced Friday for a sexual assault that occurred in November 2014.

19-year-old Akol Chadack was given a 90 day jail sentence, while 20-year-old Jeylin Smith was given 60 days for the attack on a 19-year-old woman in a stairwell at the Meadow Park Apartments complex in southeast Rochester. The victim told police the pair had told her they were taking her to a party.

In addition to the jail time, both men were placed on probation for 10 years.

Chadack and the Smith pleaded guilty to fourth degree criminal sexual conduct charges back in December.
