Photo Featuring Baseball Legends Stolen From Michael’s

Rochester Police say someone made off with one of the dozens of photos of famous customers hanging on the wall at Michael’s Restaurant in downtown Rochester.

A spokesman says the owner of the iconic restaurant told investigators the theft apparently occurred between December 19th and the 27th. The stolen photograph features baseball legends Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford posing during a visit to Michael's, which is slated to close New Year's Eve after 60-years in business at the same location.

A new Michael’s restaurant is expected to open at the same site in about a year and a half, but it’s unclear if it will include the display of photos.
