Pregnant Rochester Woman Hurt in DUI Crash
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A pregnant Rochester woman ended up at St. Mary’s Tuesday night after her vehicle was struck by a car driven by a suspected drunken driver.
Police say the car driven by 21-year-old Carmelo Cruz-Reyes crossed the centerline of 7th Street NW near 18th Avenue around 7 p.m. and collided with the woman’s vehicle. He then fled on foot but was caught a short while later.
A preliminary test indicated his blood/alcohol level was about four times the legal limit. It was also discovered Reyes was wanted on a warrant for driving without a license.
The woman, who is 16 weeks pregnant, was not seriously hurt.
