Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)  Moderate rain fell across parts of southeast Minnesota through Friday night with 1 - 2 inches common in Olmsted County.

The highest total reported to the National Weather Service was 2.04 inches in Byron. Kasson reported 1.71 inches and there was a report  of 1.5 inches from the Douglas area.

Totals in Rochester were between 1  - 1 ½ inches with 1.11 inches at the St Mary’s heliport.The Weather Service station at the Rochester Airport reported just over half an inch.

Rivers in the area have been rising due to the rain but no problems are expected. The Weather Service says the Mississippi River is expected to rise to 10.2 feet at Wabasha by Monday morning, which is about 2 feet below flood stage. Dry weather is expected through the middle of next week.

It will be cool across all of Minnesota this weekend and northern areas may be dealing with frost Sunday morning. Frost and freeze advisories will be in effect for parts of northern Wisconsin Saturday night as temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 20’s by sunrise Sunday.
