Rochester Civic Theatre presents “On Golden Pond”, a touching, funny and life-affirming drama.

This is the heartwarming story of aging Ethel and Norman Thayer, who spend each summer on a lake called Golden Pond. One summer they are visited by their daughter Chelsea, her fiancé Billy Ray and his son Billy Ray Jr. The play explores the often turbulent relationship between Chelsea and her father and the challenges that accompany a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.

‘On Golden Pond’, written by Ernest Thompson, had a successful Broadway run in 1979. It also became an Academy Award winning film in 1981 starring Henry Fonda (in his final film role), Katherine Hepburn and Jane Fonda.
