Undated (KROC AM News) -Snow fell across SE Minnesota Sunday, catching many by surprise.

Totals were generally in the 1 - 2-inch range. The highest totals reported to the National Weather Service were 3 inches near Zumbro Falls and 2 ½ inches in Lake City.

Rochester set a record with 1.6 inches (the previous record for Oct 14 was .6 inches, set in 2009).

It was the 2nd highest total in the city so early in the season. The highest is 1.7 inches, recorded on Oct. 12, 2009. The highest daily total for the month was 5 inches on Oct. 22,1979.
