Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Most of southeastern Minnesota, including the Rochester area, is included in a wind advisory for Friday.

The National Weather Service says the storm system that could bring blizzard conditions to western Minnesota will deliver gusty winds to this region. The winds are forecast to be in the 25 to 35 mile-per-hour range with gusts approaching 50 miles per hour Friday afternoon and Friday night.

Rochester is expected to see little if any snow accumulation from the system, but 6 to 12 inches of accumulation is predicted across a large area of southwest, central, and northern Minnesota. Forecasters say over a foot could fall in an area north of St. Cloud and extending into the Arrowhead region of northeastern Minnesota.

Blizzard and winter storm warnings are in effect in those areas.
