Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Parts of southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin had a rude awakening on May 2nd, 2013.

Residents rolled out of bed that morning to find inches of wet, heavy snow on the ground - and there was more to come!  By the time it ended that day, records were shattered, trees and shrubs were destroyed and life literally came to a standstill for several hours.

The weather remained cold for a few days before warmer temperatures arrived and the snow disappeared. But for those who lived through that experience, the memories remain!

Check out the summary from the National Weather Service.
