Do you keep a household budget?  Roughly three in five adult Americans do not maintain a budget and 13-percent say they don’t have a good idea of what they spend on expenses such as housing, food and entertainments.

The good news is that Rochester is one of the top Metro areas in the United States when it comes to the “Best Budgeters”.  According to a new report from WalletHub, Rochester ranks number 3 overall.

The upper-Midwest was represented well placing eight of the Top-10 areas.  The Sioux Falls area was number one, followed by Fargo-Moorhead, Rochester, the Twin Cities and Boston.

Meanwhile on the other end of the spectrum, the deep-South held nine of the bottom ten spots with Greater Jackson, Mississippi deemed the “Worst Budgeter” area.

WalletHub ranked 150 U.S. metropolitan areas to gauge overall budgeting capability of their residents by using 16 key metrics, ranging from the average credit score to number of unbanked households.
