Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  The Rochester Boys and Girls Club is advising the community of a scam that was reported earlier this week involving one of its upcoming events.

The club found out a person was going door-to-door on Wednesday promoting and selling tickets for The Prince Experience event.

Executive Director Jodi Millerbernd says the club “does not and has never conducted fundraising efforts through door-to-door solicitations.”

She says this has happened in the past and it’s frustrating to the entire organization.

“ These false claims are frustrating to say the least. Boys & Girls Club of Rochester operates with integrity; and, we hope you expect us and every other organization you support to be accountable for each dollar you donate. It saddens us to know that the generosity of good people in our community is being taken advantage of.”

Millerbernd says tickets for the event are only being sold online and at the club and the Wicked Moose Bar and Grill.
