Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is being held in the Goodhue County Jail on charges connected to a chase in the Zumbrota area early Thursday.

A statement issued by the Zumbrota Police Department says after it received a request for assistance from Red Wing Police investigating an alleged robbery, a Zumbrota Officer spotted the suspect and stopped his vehicle around 1AM. The man, later identified as 19-year-old Andrew Fogan, got into a struggle with the officer and then fled into a wooded area before he allegedly stole a car and led authorities on a chase.

The statement says Fogan eventually stopped and ran into some woods, which prompted an extensive search that included a State Patrol helicopter and K9 units. He was arrested after a Zumbrota resident reported a suspicious person in a storm shelter at the Ponderosa Mobile Home Park. Fogan made another attempt to run away from the responding officers, but was apprehended after he was shocked with a Taser.

Court records show Fogan is currently wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Olmsted County in a domestic assault case.
