Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested Sunday night on an arson-related charge after he apparently threatened to start a house on fire.

Police were contacted around 9:15 p.m. by  an occupant of a home in the 600 block of 5th Ave SE. The caller said 31-year-old Calvin Johnson had just poured some gasoline outside the home and threatened to ignite it. He then left on foot and police found him a short distance away and took him into custody.

A spokesman says Johnson had apparently been assaulted earlier but it’s not known if the two incidents were related.
