Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested on Friday as a suspect in a fatal overdose.

Police Captain John Sherwin says 53 year old Darnell McDaniels has been charged with 3rd degree murder in the death of a 35-year-old man who was found dead at a halfway house in the 1600 block of 4th street northwest in January last year. McDaniels is accused of selling the heroin that led to the man’s death.

Sherwin says McDaniels is suspected of selling heroin to other people who suffered non-lethal overdoses.

McDaniels was arraigned Monday and his conditional bail was set at $200,000.  He was ordered back to court March 21st for another hearing.
