Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was assaulted was found facedown in a pool of blood in the heart of the downtown early Saturday.

Police were called to the Peace Plaza around 2:30 AM and found the 23-year-old. He was taken by ambulance to St. Marys Hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw, loose teeth, and other injuries.

Police say the man was intoxicated and wasn’t sure what had happened. Police say the man may have been involved in an earlier confrontation at a nearby bar.

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault is being asked to contact police.
