Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager has been arrested as a suspect in the recent armed robbery of a man near the downtown.

It happened the night of Dec 21st on the 600 block of 2nd St SW.

The victim told police he had just walked out of an apartment when two men with knives approached and demanded his money. The victim told police the men threatened him and then grabbed his arms. The men went through the victim’s pockets and took his phone charger and wallet, which contained $300 in cash. A 17-year-old friend of the victim came out of the apartment during the robbery and the two chased the robbers for a few blocks but they got away.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says investigators were able to identify some suspects and one of them - 19-year-old Lam Yieb - was taken into custody Monday.

Sherwin says more arrests are possible.
