Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man being sought by Rochester police as the suspect in several recent car prowls was apprehended early Wednesday - after using a stolen debit card.

Arrested was 18-year-old Jacob Pike.

Two officers spotted him enter the south Walmart store around 3:30 a.m. and took him into custody when he came out. The officers contacted the owner of the stolen card and he was not aware it was missing.

Pike became a suspect in the car prowls earlier this month.

A handgun was taken in one of the break-ins. Police say Pike broke into another vehicle a week later and the stolen gun was left behind. Police say Pike took credit and debit cards from the vehicles he broke into and used them until they were cancelled. Police later linked Pike to the stolen cards through some of the transactions.
