Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester police investigators received a “helpful statement” from a woman who actually witnessed Sunday’s fatal shooting of a city teenager.

The woman contacted investigators Tuesday after police issued an alert seeking the driver of a vehicle who was at the scene of the shooting that left 17-year-old Muhammed Rahim dead.

He was shot by 25-year-old Alexander Weiss during a confrontation that occurred after a minor traffic mishap involving the two drivers.

The woman - who had been on her way to church -  told police she was frightened after witnessing the shooting and drove off. She flagged down a police officer a few blocks away and reported the shooting and then left.

Weiss was expected to be charged with murder Wednesday.
