Rochester Public Library’s new BookBike will begin visiting parks and area events this week. RPL’s BookBike, a little library on wheels, will be pulled by library staff on bicycles to locations within a one-mile radius of the downtown library this spring, summer and fall. The BookBike will offer library books, library cards, program information, assistance with digital materials, bike trail maps and fun incentives.

The BookBike schedule includes stops at Kutzky Park, Cooke Park, Silver Lake Park, Mayo Park, Slatterly Park and Soldier’s Field. The BookBike will also be at Peace Plaza on Tuesdays May 12th and May 19th from 11AM to 1PM and at People’s Food Coop on Thursdays May 14th, 21st and 28th from 11AM to 1PM. Stop by the BookBike to get a
library card, check out some “wheelie” good books or just to say, “Hey, nice bike!”. The entire BookBike schedule can be found online.

The BookBike program was funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, through aCommunity Collaboration grant from Southeast Libraries Cooperating (SELCO).
