Overnight temperatures across Southeast Minnesota may drop as low as -25 and daytime highs may be in the minus 5 to minus 10-degree range through Thursday. These frigid temps can cause your pipes to freeze and possibly burst.

Rochester Public Utilities is urging customers to check the temperature of their water often this week. If yours is below 35-degrees you should immediately take action to prevent your pipes from freezing. If your water is that cold or colder you should open the faucet enough to where a pencil-width stream of water is running - and let it run. RPU asks that you notify them if you're going to leave your water running.
