The Rochester School District and the union representing the district’s teachers have worked out a tentative agreement on a new two-year contract. The deal was reached with the help of a state mediator during a recent bargaining session. A school district spokesperson says it calls for wage and benefit increases that total about 6.4% over the two years covered by the agreement, which would run through June of 2015. Members of the Rochester Education Association are scheduled to vote on the proposed contract next Monday, and if it is approved, the School Board is expected to ratify the agreement at its meeting Tuesday evening.
