Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 19-year-old man who was charged in connection with a triple stabbing in Rochester a couple years ago has been sentenced to over 25 years in prison for a murder in the Twin Cities.

Ahmed Abdirahman Abdi was convicted of second-degree murder during a trial in Hennepin County in July. He was 17-years-old when he shot 21-year-old Ayan Abdulahi while she was lying on a bed at Abdi’s home in Minneapolis in April of last year. He was later arrested in Kansas City Missouri.

The criminal case against Abdi in Olmsted County is pending. He was charged with two counts of felony assault for his alleged involvement in the stabbings of three men at an apartment complex near the Rochester Community and Technical College Campus in May 2014.
