The Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale has announced it has suspended the organization’s President while the criminal case against him is pending.

Earlier this week, 44-year-old Jeffrey Amundson was charged with stealing about $18,000 dollars from a vulnerable adult living in a local group home. The criminal complaint alleges the money was taken from the victim’s accounts after Amundson was granted Power of Attorney to take care of the person’s financial affairs.

The Symphony Orchestra and Chorale’s Board of Directors, in a statement, says it reviews the organization’s finances monthly and regularly submits its financials to an outside accountant and an outside auditor. The statement says those reviews have never revealed any financial irregularities.
