Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman is scheduled to be sentenced in February for her role in an assault and robbery that took place in Chatfield last month.

27-year-old Kayla Richards pleaded guilty Tuesday to third-degree assault and a simple robbery charge.

She and 38-year-old Montez Ruth were arrested after the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department was contacted on the evening of November 12th by a 56-year-old woman who said she had just been attacked in her residence at the Chosen Valley mobile home park. The woman indicated Richards had contacted her earlier about retrieving some of her father’s property. He and the victim had a previous relationship. The victim said Richards assaulted her a short while after she arrived and knocked her out before Richards and Ruth left with the woman’s 40-inch TV and cellphone.

Rochester police officers were waiting for the pair when they showed up at their residence and took them into custody.

Ruth is facing an aggravated robbery charge.
