Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help as it investigates a reported sexual assault.

A 46-year-old woman says she was walking on the Douglas Trail in the area of 60th Ave and 65th St NW in rural Rochester between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. Monday when a man grabbed her from behind, shoved her face-first into the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The only description she could provide was that the man was black. She says he also “ had a strong body odor and smelled of an alcoholic beverage.”

Meanwhile, Rochester police are checking a report from a teenager who says she was grabbed by a strange man early Thursday.

The 16-year-old says she left home about 1:30 a.m. after getting into an argument with her mother. The teen said she decided to walk to her grandmother’s house and was in the 600 block of 14th St NW when a man walked up and grabbed her by the shirt. She says she kicked the man and was able to get away and that he did not follow her. The teen described the man as white and in his late 30s.
