Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman has suspended her campaign for Congress.

Regina Mustafa posted a message on Facebook today announcing the decision and thanking her supporters. She also made a comment on Twitter yesterday that being legally blind without a driver's license has limited her ability to effectively campaign across the First District.

Mustafa launched her campaign about two months ago and joined a crowded field of Democrats vying to succeed Congressman Tim Walz who earlier announced he was running for governor.

Mustafa’s campaign attracted statewide attention in August when a comment containing a death threat against her was posted on YouTube, prompting the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations to request an FBI investigation.
