Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester has its first female mayor.

Kim Norton took the oath of office during a noon-hour ceremony at the Mayo Center Civic Monday, becoming the city’s 45th mayor.

Norton told the gathering one of her toughest challenges will be striking the right balance between the needs of the city and her family. She also talked about what she said is a need for “a more transparent and inclusive city government.”
