Rochester’s growing population has hit another milestone.

According to the U.S. Census, the city is now home to more than 110,000 people.

The latest Census population estimates put the city’s head count at 110,742 as of last July. That’s up almost 1.5-percent, or about 1,600 people from the July 2012 estimate and the city’s population has risen by almost 4,000 people when compared to the tally from the 2010 Census.

Rochester is now ranked as the 246th largest city in the U.S., and the city’s population growth rate from 2012 through last year is ranked 154th among the nation’s 300 largest cities.
