The Rochester Police Activity League announces the 11th annual Shop with a Cop program. Shop with a Cop is organized by the Rochester Police Activity League (PAL) and with support from local sponsors helps make the holiday season a little more bright for area students and families in need.

Over 50 Rochester Police Officers, Olmsted Country Sheriff’s Deputies, Community Service Officers, Detention Deputies, Troopers and Rochester Police Explorers will gather at Wal-Mart North in Rochester on Saturday, December 12th, 2015 along with 60 area at-risk students for this annual holiday giving program. From Noon to 3pm, selected participants pair up with the local law enforcement officers and shop throughout Wal-Mart for holiday gifts. Each child is given a $120.00 gift card from Walmart to purchase gifts for themselves and family members. The child is encouraged to budget the money given to them to purchase a gift for each person on their holiday list. Participants and officers are also treated with lunch from Sam’s Club, a tour of police squad cars, K-9 demonstration and more. Culver's of Rochester is another participating sponsor.

The goal of Shop with a Cop is to give kids in need the opportunity to form a friendship with local law enforcement officers, and help promote positive relationships between police and area youth….all while enjoying a special day of shopping for holiday gifts for loved ones.
