Douglas, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic wreck that sent two people to the hospital Thursday.

The sheriff’s office says a car driven by 87-year-old Joan Morrison of Pine Island crossed the centerline of County Road 3 and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The sheriff’s office says Morrison suffered serious injuries but she was not listed as a patient at St Marys Hospital Friday morning. A passenger in her vehicle - 55-year-old Robert Rippentrop of Pine Island - did not seek medical attention.

The other vehicle was driven by 19-year-old Ryan Kohlmeyer of rural Oronoco. His vehicle caught fire. Kohlmeyer was able to get out but a passenger -19-year-old Lauren Saner of Rochester - was trapped. Kohlmeyer was trying to get her out when a passerby put out the fire. The unknown person also helped get Saner out of the vehicle. She was listed in fair condition Friday morning. 

The wreck happened around 11:30 a.m. near the town of Douglas.
