Scrapper Caught in Downtown Rochester

A Rochester "scrapper"  was caught red-handed last night.

A police spokesman says officers were sent to the former CJ's Midtown Lounge site downtown along Broadway around 9 p.m. to check a report of a suspicious man.

Officers arrived to find the man working on the security fence at the site.The man had already removed copper piping and other items from the building. He told the officers he had permission from the property owner to remove the items.The owner was contacted and said the man was lying.

Arrested was 32 year old Eric Hoerner, who is now facing a burglary charge.
