Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester police are investigating a case involving an assault and shots fired that happened Christmas Day.

Officers were called to a residence at Homestead Village around 5:30 p.m. Sunday after a witness reported seeing a man being assaulted by two other males outside the building.

One of the assailants reportedly pistol whipped the victim. At some point, at least two shots were fired and one bullet was later found lodged in the wall of the building where the assault took place in the 800 block of Homestead Village Ln SE.

The assailants and victim could not be located.
