State Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer wants to assure all those going to the Minnesota State Fair that the rides are safe. There has been concern over fair rides since a person was killed on the Fireball ride at the Ohio State Fair. By the way, that ride is not coming to the Minnesota State Fair.

Hammer says the rides get three rounds of inspections. The first one when the rides arrive and are assembled at the fairgrounds. A daily inspection by the operators and an inspection by state electrical inspectors.

So enjoy the thrills of the rides at the Minnesota State Fair running Wednesday through Labor Day. Just maybe watch how much of that great fair food you eat before getting on some of the more exciting rides, shall we say.
