Eveleth, MN  ( KROC AM News) -  The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has released a video of a crash involving a train in a semi truck that occurred last month in northeastern Minnesota.

The State Patrol says a dash cam in a State Patrol cruiser recorded video of the terrifying incident at a crossing in St. Louis County near Eveleth on January 20th. The trooper had just stopped the truck for an inspection when the driver of the big rig pulled away and drove into the path of the freight train even though the warning lights were flashing and the engineer of the train was sounding his horn.

Luckily, the driver of the truck walked away from the crash with minor injuries. Watching the video, it seems unlikely he would have been as fortunate had he arrived at the crossing a second or two earlier.
