Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was attacked and robbed Tuesday night but thanks to a cooperative witness, one of the suspected assailants is behind bars.  

A police spokesman says the victim was assaulted around 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of 4th Ave SE.  

The assault began shortly after the victim approached a man and began talking about an earlier incident. The man and two others then attacked the victim, hitting him in the head with bottles and striking him with sticks. The assailants took $100 in cash from the victim and drove off. The victim ran to a nearby convenience store and police were called.  

A witness to the assault was able to give police a description of the vehicle the men were in and it was located a short distance away. Police arrested one of the suspects. 23 year old Alin Abdulle is facing possible charges of aggravated robbery and felony assault.  

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s where he was treated and released.
