Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -  Talk about an easy DUI arrest.

A Rochester man was arrested late Wednesday night after pulling up behind a squad car that had stopped on the shoulder of N. Broadway near the River Center shopping center.

The Olmsted County deputy in the squad had just completed a traffic stop and turned off her emergency lights. She was preparing to leave when the vehicle stopped behind the squad and did not move. After about 30 seconds, the deputy went to check on the driver.

When the driver rolled down his window, the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol and asked what he was doing. The man told the deputy he was waiting for her to go so he could make a turn on the street where they were parked and drive to his home. She checked his driver's license and discovered he actually lived on the other side of town.

After a preliminary test showed he had a blood/alcohol level of .15, the deputy arrested the 20-year-old man on a misdemeanor DUI charge.
