Starting in 2018, Target will offer its customers something new an exciting with their acquisition of one of the most rapidly growing same-day delivery companies.

Announced on Tuesday, the Minnesota-based company acquired Shipt for $550 million, which is one of their biggest acquisitions in Target history.

With same-day delivery being in such high demand by it's customers, Shipt gives Target the opportunity to launch this service in about half its stores beginning early next year... and by this time next holiday season, a majority of Target stores will have the same-day option according to the press release.

Shipt will be good towards groceries, essentials, home, electronics and other products. By the end of 2019, same-day delivery will include all major product categories at Target.

The one thing that might sting a little is that this will require an annual membership of $99.

Starting next spring, Target customers can visit Shipt.com to see if it is available in their area.

But what's available right now in Rochester is a brand new yet-to-be-named interactive sculpture. You can check it out here.
