Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A police chase that began in Rochester around 1 p.m. Monday ended in a residential neighborhood when the pursued driver crashed.

Rochester police say the chase covered a few miles that included Highways 14 and 52, 19th St NW and a number of residential streets. It began when a trooper tried to pull over a motorist for speeding on Highway 52 at 19th St NW. It ended ten minutes later at the intersection of 14th St and 5th Ave NW a few blocks east of Assisi Heights after the driver crashed into a vehicle and also struck a parked car.

The driver - identified as 28 year old Edgar Barrientos of Eagle Pass, Texas - is now in jail. A juvenile female who was in the car was treated for minor injuries.

The St Charles couple in the vehicle the man crashed into also suffered minor injuries.
