Rochester, MN  ( KROC AM News) - The Rochester School District and the union representing its teachers have reached a tentative contract agreement.

The deal covers a two-year period that began last July and includes general salary increases of 2.5-percent for the current school year and 3-percent for 2016-2017. The pay increase for the current school year would applied retroactively to last July. A document posted on the Rochester Education Association website also indicates there would be no changes concerning health insurance contributions.

The teachers are expected to hold a ratification vote next week and the agreement would be presented to the School Board at its March 8th meeting if it is approved by the rank and file.
