32 teams from 15 states are finishing their training before The Clash National High School Wrestling Duals in Rochester, MN. These teams will be competing for the trophy in the nation’s premiere high school wrestling tournament, held in Rochester’s 44,000 square foot Regional Recreational Sports Center at the Rochester Community and Technical College on January 1st and 2nd.

The Clash has been the battlefield for some of the most elite dual meets that high school wrestling has seen in the past decade. Many of America’s most storied programs have made the trip to Rochester, including St. Paris Graham, St. Edward, Apple Valley, Clovis CA, Oak Park River Forest, Montini Catholic, STMA, Brandon FL, and many more. This year’s event is no different, as many teams in the top 20 return to Rochester for another great event.

Seven thousand people will attend The Clash in person this year, with thousands more watching live via webcast. For those unable to attend, all 96 duals can be viewed for only $10 delivered by trackcast.

What makes The Clash even more unique is its contribution to improving the sport.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from The Clash – which is around $50,000 a year – are reinvested in the wrestling community at the youth, high school, and collegiate level.

For the first time ever, all wrestling mats are being sponsored.  Sponsors include Buffalo Wild Wings, Morgan and Trust Realty, State Farm, R&S Transport, Covanta Energy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine, and Kwik Trip.  With the help of these generous sponsors, The Clash is able to give even more support to the wrestling community.

Participating Minnesota teams: Anoka, Apple Valley, Farmington, Hastings, Kenyon-Wanamingo, Prior Lake, Shakopee, Simley, STMA, and Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
