It's never a bad thing if your home is filled with laughter, as long as that laughter is coming from humans. Yesterday Amazon promised to keep everyone's favorite virtual assistant Alexa from spontaneously cackling.

Darker posts wondered playfully whether fears about artificial intelligence turning on humans were coming real.

Even Elon Musk got in on the twitter chatter by tweeting the joke 'Every time Alexa laughs, an angel dies'.

Amazon looked into what was going on and found that sometimes Alexa mistakenly registers the phrase "Alexa laugh" and obeys.

Amazon has since changed the phrase that enabled the 'tee-hee' to now be 'Alexa, can you laugh?'.

So in the end it turns out I am not really funny, but possibly funny looking with this new Alexa enabled device!

Don't forget you CAN enable Alexa to play Power 96 on command, simply say 'Alexa enable Power 96!'
