Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester police say the woman who sought treatment following a weekend shooting might not have been shot.

Police Captain John Sherwin says investigators are looking into the possibility the 19-year-old woman’s injury is actually a puncture wound she suffered when she fell after gunfire erupted early Sunday when an argument broke out during a party at a residence in the Edge Apartments near the RCTC campus. She was already at St. Mary’s Hospital receiving treatment when police arrived at the apartment complex around 1:15 a.m. and found a number of spent shell casings in the third floor hallway and bullet holes in the wall and ceiling.

22-year-old Bolus Dimbiti was taken into custody later in the day on a weapons violation charge. Investigators identified him as a suspect through a security camera video, which shows him firing a gun. The Rochester man recently pleaded guilty in a case involving another shooting incident in the same area in September.

Sherwin says it appears additional shots were fired outside the apartment building early Sunday and investigators have indicated additional arrests are possible.
