Rochester, MN - (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man has entered into a plea agreement in a financial exploitation case and has been sentenced to 10 years on probation.

50-year-old William Arndt was charged with stealing over $80,000 from a person who moved into a dementia care facility at a senior assisted living complex in 2011. The criminal complaint stated Arndt is a relative of the victim and was given Power of Attorney over the person’s financial affairs earlier that same year.

Under the plea agreement, Arndt will be required to pay an unspecified amount of restitution and perform 50 hours of community work service, but he was also granted a stay of adjudication. That means his guilty plea to a felony charge of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult would not be entered his criminal record if he successfully meets the conditions set by Judge Debra Jacobson.
