A  police chase early Friday that began in Dodge Center ended a short while later in Byron with the arrests of a man and woman.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department was notified about a vehicle spotted driving on Highway 14 in Steele County at a high rate of speed. Deputies spotted the vehicle around 2:30 a.m. as it was driving through Dodge Center and tried to make a stop. But the driver took off at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

The chase ended near Byron after officers used stop sticks to disable the vehicle. Officers found narcotics and more than $4,000 in cash inside the vehicle and the two occupants were taken into custody.
