Southeast Minnesota has proven to be filled with a lot of basketball talent. With the section tournaments in full swing for girls basketball, and the boys section tournaments getting underway this week, the area has already seen some fantastic games, and will surely be treated to many more.

A total of 18 teams in the area were ranked in the latest rankings from Minnesota Basketball News, including five teams from Section 1 ranked in the Top 20 for Class AA girls basketball.

Section 1 is loaded in Class A and AA this season in boys basketball. Four teams from the region are ranked in the Top 20 in Class A, and the top six teams in the section all have over 20 wins on the season. In Class AA. four teams are ranked in the Top 20, including three in the Top 10.
