In honor of Columbus Day, let's be honest - you can get lost in Rochester sometimes. I'll admit it. I have before! It's happened when I've been driving, but thankfully there's a cool trick that I noticed that helped me make sure I'd never get too lost around Rochester again.

Here are a few places to be aware of if you're new to Rochester. They're tricky, and it's kind of easy to get lost when you're in that area.

  1. Pill Hill/The Plummer House - There's a lot of private property in the area, so it's easy to assume that any one of those homes could be "the Plummer House" but they aren't.
  2. Menard's North - If you're going to the north location, you'll notice that it's surrounded by fields. Driving there, you might think you're not going the right way but you probably are.
  3. Anywhere downtown during construction season - just be mentally prepared to take some side streets. It's going to happen. You could get lost on those side streets, but here's a tip: find Broadway - that's your main vain north and south. Also helpful: find Civic Center Drive - that's your main vain east and west.

Did you find these tips helpful? What other places around town have you been lost?
