It is officially squishy dog turd season!  The snow has disappeared and the rain showers will soon be showing off those gorgeous, fresh flowers that we love in Minnesota.  Unfortunately, some of our gutters, flowerbeds, and open areas are looking a little trashy.

I know that you probably didn't throw garbage out of your car or fling a cigarette butt out while you were waiting at a red light.  Unfortunately, someone in Rochester did and they aren't coming back to pick it up.

Back in 2007, a huge campaign called "A Litter Bit Better" was created to clean up the trash around the Rochester area.  Today, that campaign is still going strong and details on how you can help in 2025 was just released!  It's easy to help and we've got everything you need to know below.

  • You pick a place on a map that is still needing help getting cleaned up.
  • You sign up and say "I'm in!".
  • Figure out when you are going to go out on your own, with family, friends, or co-workers to help clean up all of the litter in that area.  (This year, the Litter Bit Better pickup dates are between April 19th through April 27th, 2025.)
  • Pick up garbage bags and recycling bags from the designated areas.
